Hey! So far I know for sure that Ray, Lola, Amelia and Rob and I will be there! Anyone else in? Chance, are you still planning to come up for the day on Saturday? I know you mentioned that earlier. Also, what is the address of this house...We'll mapquest it while getting everything packed and ready tonight.

MIA--no really, she is missing now.

Dear Family.
Amelia took off Wednesday p.m. about 3:3o p.m. & we still don't know where she is. There have been various twists and turns, she still is nowhere to be found and not contacting us. No there was no fight, no upheaval....I'd left her here for a short time so I could go to a doctor's appointment. I came back to the house being left open, Gracie in the backyard and her chores left half done. The last person to see and talk to her was her boyfriend of 3 weeks, he initially said he hadn't seen her but fessed up after the police continue to question him. There is a warrant on her now since she has broken her probation. We think that it's very strange--he now says he left her across the street by the cemetery and she was going to her friend, Tiffani's house, yesterday. If she were so near the house she would try to get in for change of clothes or something. Something about all that lie isn't right. So we are up in the air now about Kentucky. Depends on what rolls out this next week, I suppose. Just wanted to let all of you know what was going on.

Summer Fun!!!!

Above: Bayou resident. He looks hungry.......

Above: The French Quarter in New Orleans.
Above: Floating homes on the bayou. Rob said it looked like Appalachia on a river! Talk about tuning up the banjo!!!!!

Above: Dolphin surfing behind our boat!!!

We have been running like crazy since school got out! Rob went to New Orleans (with his friend Paul - to visit some of Paul's friends). After New Orleans, they drove over to Panama City Beach to join Kelly and I!!! We had a good time...Banjo enjoyed herself too. We would have taken her to the beach but there were several rather hostile signs forbidding it :-( We went out on a boat for a sunset cruise and got to see a pod of dolphins swimming and jumping in the the wake of the boat!!

More News on the Cumberland Stay

We reserved the 2 story house in Partridge, 8 miles south of the light at Cumberland on Hwy. 119. We are going down on the 27th and will stay through the weekend. So far, Brandy & Rob have committed. There is room for 6-7 people + couches will hold more if necessary. Let us know who is in and what not-there will be some balloons hanging on a post on the road going back to the house. Fully furnished--microwave, coffee pot, microwave, etc.
More to come later.

Lodging Update for Cumberland--ASAP

Ray finally was able to get in contact with the people that have the house in Partridge for rent. The weekend of the 27th is open. There are 2 houses--one is a 2 story w/ 2 bdrms. up and a smaller bedroom downstairs--rental is $100.00 per night regardless of how many people are staying. It has central air. Linens, towels & such are provided; there are staples such as flour, spices, etc. that others have brought in. We fix all our own meals. The other place is a log cabin that is "more rustic"--there is only a window air conditioner--it has a loft with 2 twin beds, a double & a rollaway, kitchen, bathroom. The property is located on Cumberland River and both houses have porches that have a view of the river. It rents for $40 per night. Let us know who is interested as soon as possible so we can get the arrangments made.
Ray's cell is 937 414-0649; mine is 937 414-0650 and of course, call us at home--937 299-1330.
E-mail is ray@lola.net; lac@lola.net. Spread the word and soon.

Cumberland!!

I have been researching this some more, and there are rooms available in Hazard, KY on the weekend of June 27-29. The rooms are at the Super 8, and the rates are more reasonable ($53-$56 per night). Ray and Lola - were you able to contact the rental house? That may be a better deal - if it's available.
Rob and I are still very interested in going! What do you think???? Do those dates work? We could consider maybe Labor Day weekend instead...or another weekend this summer...whatever works for everyone! And MARK...where have you been? You have to get back here for this!
